  • 1 cup C&H® Granulated Sugar, Easy Baking Tub

  • 1 cup Water 
  • 1 tablespoon Flavored extract of choice

Prep Time: 5 minutes / Cook Time: 5 minutes / Yields: About 2 ½ cups
Step 1

In a small saucepan, combine water and sugar over medium-high heat. Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring occasionally until the sugar is completely dissolved. Reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and add flavored extract of choice. 

Step 2

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Use syrup within two weeks of preparation.

Flavor Variations

Almond: 1 tablespoon almond extract

Vanilla bean: 1 tablespoon vanilla paste

Orange Ginger: add to the syrup, while cooking, the rind of an orange and 1 piece of about 1-inch of fresh ginger, peeled. 

Fall spice: add to the syrup, while cooking. 2 sticks of cinnamon, 6 cloves, 2 pieces of star anise, 6 pieces of whole allspice, a pinch of freshly grated nutmeg. Strain before using.

Brown Sugar Cinnamon: Replace C&H Granulated Sugar with C&H Light Brown Sugar, add 2 cinnamon sticks while the syrup is cooking.

Additional Tips

Use empty glass bottles to store your syrup, clean thoroughly before using. Syrups can be a great holiday gift, decorate with ribbon and add a nametag for an elegant touch.
