Instructions
Step 1
Prepare the cookie dough. In a medium heat-proof bowl, heat the flour in the microwave for 30 seconds at a time until it reaches 165°F. This will take around 1 to 1.5 minutes. Stir the flour and let it cool down to room temperature. Do not leave out this step as the flour is warmed up to make the cookie dough edible without baking it.
Step 2
In a large bowl, beat the sugar, butter, and salt until light and fluffy. About 4 minutes. Add flour and mix until just combined. Add milk and vanilla. Beat at low speed until just combined. Add chocolate chips and fold in using a spatula. Cover and place in the refrigerator while you prepare the chocolate pudding.
Step 3
In a large saucepan, mix the sugar, cocoa, cornstarch and salt together with a whisk. Pour in milk and whisk until they are well blended. Heat the mixture over medium-high heat, stirring all the time until it boils. Boil for 1 minute. Take it off the heat and add in the butter, vanilla, and chocolate chips. Stir until smooth. Let the mixture cool down completely.
Step 4
Prepare the cream by beating whipping cream, sugar, and pudding mix until medium peaks.
Step 5
Make the trifle. With a small ice cream scoop, place cookie dough at the base of a trifle dish. Add a layer of chocolate pudding and then a layer of cream. Put 5-6 chocolate chip cookies on top. Do the same steps until you fill the dish. End with cream and pieces of chocolate chip cookies for decoration. Refrigerate for 1 hour before serving.
